Sultry Fedora Girl, Original Watercolor 8x10" Miniature Art

Because my main focus for paintings is miniature bird watercolor, some of my recent paintings are way outside of the box for me.  This week's small format art painting was inspired by my love of hats, particularly the fedora.  This red-lipped sultry vixen was quite fun to paint!   ...and I didn't forget to incorporate a feathered friend - her bird art tattoo represents a ruby-throat hummingbird.  I think this little painting would add interest to any cozy, contemporary corner of your home or office.

No Words Between Us.... an original watercolor and ink 11x14

Greetings, from the San Francisco Bay area! 

I happily created this monotone, figurative painting which will be used in a friend's poetry book to illustrate his poem called No Words Between Us.  This was an extremely fun project!  She is painted using Neutral Tint paints and micron pen.  I'm so pleased with this painting, and i hope you will enjoy it! 

It will be for sale sometime in September 2015.

Happy Spring!  Here is my  latest watercolor, the cockatiel.  As you may know, he's indigenous to the continent of Australia and has been duped the smallest member of the cocokatoo family. 

These little birds make great pets, for those of us who have a lot of time to spend with an animal.  Birds are very social creatures and truly need daily attention and companionship.

Wild Bird Art - Hermit Thrush Original Watercolor 8x6"

I like to sit outside on my door stoop with my camera and watch the neighborhood birds go about their day.  Many times, they come to forage for insects or to rest in the ivy which clings to the side of the house and on the fence.  

Just last week, i noticed a hermit thrush for the first time.  He is bold and brave and does not seem to be bothered by my presence.  I was fortunate enough to watch him for a while.   The thrush decided to land in the ivy and was observing his surroundings.  Here is my rendition of the little guy as he sits in the ivy.
