My Recent Artwork for Autumn.. thank you for looking!

What a beautiful autumn day we have here in the San Francisco bay area! And it's also a wonderful time of year for bird watchers, as the migratory birds have been flying in for a few weeks now. Some will remain for the winter, others will move on. It's lots of fun getting out to do some bird-watching.

I'm also having a great time painting birds. Here is my newest painting, a cooper's hawk. My friend, Kathy White Laroche, allowed me to use one of her photographs as a reference. Kathy happened to look out her window one day in the recent past, and there was a cooper's hawk politely perched on her porch railing. What a great opportunity for pictures (and it was nice of him to visit, too!).

Mourning Dove Love, a Watercolor on Aquabord Creation

Aquabord is great surface for watercolors!  It's a clay coated hardboard panel which is different from paper (but in a good way!).  I enjoyed creating this 5x5", one of a kind painting on Aquabord with Winsor Newton watercolors.  This little painting is for sale HERE.

Welcome to my new blog... This place is for the birds!

Welcome to my new watercolor art blog!  You will find my bright, detailed original miniature watercolors and prints for sale here on my blog, and at My Ebay Store.  


My primary subject for painting are the beautiful birds of the world.  I paint them, I photograph them, I adore them!  Birds are mysterious, lovely and unique creatures which have captivated me since I was a child.  It seems like the sensible thing to splash through life painting Mother Nature's birds.

While birds are my primary, creative endeavor, I take delight in painting snowmen during the winter months, various animals and the occasional portrait or fairy.  Happily, I am well-known for my snowman art, as well as the birds. 

When i bring a smile to a face, my work is done!

My paintings range in size from baseball card sized to 16 x 20".  A great deal of my works are called ACEO (Art Cards, Editions & Originals).  These are tiny works of art, only 2.5 x 3.5".  But, don't let the size fool you!  ACEO art is just as beautiful as affordable.  If  you'd like, check out my Pinterest Board ACEO ART ONLY.  There you will discover many ACEO art posts from various eBay artists, which link to their sales.  Please check it out!
